An heirloom seed is an old variety that can be collected at the end of the season allowing gardeners to replant and share their favourite varieties year after year. In contrast many commercial seeds are bred to be sterile – meaning you can’t collect and regrow the seeds, making them a single use product, which is pretty sad. For me gardening is all about being resourceful so I love this idea.
This gorgeous range of Heirloom Seeds from Little Veggie Patch Co is made up of hardy favourites and comes in the most beautiful vintage style packaging. At Little Veggie Patch Co they believe that anyone can have an edible garden and they offer all the tools and advice you need to get going. I love this notion and am optimistic that I wont kill all my plants this time around.
