Go Bamboo – Veggie Brush
There are some definite upsides to keeping the peel on your veggies. It is supposedly good for you, but for me the real winner is that it is way easier than peeling them and saves me a trip to the compost. I may be lazy but I am getting some extra nutrients in the process so I see that as a win.
This leads me to this lovely little veggie brush that is made out of Bamboo and Bass Fibre bristles making it durable, long-lasting and biodegradable. It is super comfortable to use and the bristles don’t bend like nylon ones do.
Bamboo is a pretty amazing product with some astounding properties. It can grow about 2 feet per day and reaches maturity after only 3 to 5 years releasing 30% more oxygen into the atmosphere and absorbing more carbon dioxide than other plants. It has a stronger structure than steel and has been used in the construction industry and in the manufacture of floors, furniture, house walls, skateboards, bicycle frames and helmets. Being biodegradable Bamboo is a brilliant alternative material to plastic for a lot of single use products. I hope we keep seeing more and more of it in the future.
