Ecosia works like any other search engine. Except it doesn’t. Ecosia uses the profit from clicks on ad results to fund tree-planting projects throughout the developing world.
With around 40 million trees already planted, Ecosia is strengthening communities in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Peru and beyond. Their planting programs are run in conjunction with NGO’s and local community groups to provide jobs, produce, food, and even reverse desertification. Check out the Ecosia Blog for the latest updates on their planting projects.
All you need to do, is choose Ecosia as your search engine. You can search directly from their site, install the browser extension or grab the app for your phone. User privacy is important to Ecosia too, so they don’t use third party trackers or sell your data to advertisers. Give it a shot.
